NEWS Jacqueline Ashley attended the premiere of About Schmidt in Beverly Hills, California on Thursday, December 12. The event was presented by New Line Cinema in association with the AFI Associates to benefit the American Film Institute. The film's director, Alexander Payne was present as well as cast members Jack Nicholson, Kathy Bates, Dermot Mulroney, and Hope Davis. Other guests included actors Lara Flynn Boyle, Dennis Quaid, Brad Pitt, Nia Vardalos, Karl Urban, Dylan McDermott, Shiva Rose, Catherine Keener, Chris Klein, Katie Holmes, New Line executive Bob Shaye, and record producer Lou Adler. It was held at the Norris Cinema Complex at the University of Southern California. Guests at the event included the entire Sinatra family--Nancy Sinatra, Sr., Nancy Sinatra Lambert, Frank Sinatra, Jr., Tina Sinatra, and music producer Quincy Jones. There are many individuals who have the determination and motivation to learn, although they lack the creative outlet to do so. Ashley Productions offers internships to individuals interested in pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. The company provides hands-on training, allowing their interns to explore and gain opportunities for themselves, which are beneficial for their future endeavors in entertainment. Jacqueline Ashley prides herself in helping others succeed in this competitive industry. As a woman and ethnic minority herself, she is especially dedicated to helping other women and minorities. Many of Ashley Productions' past interns have continued on to successful careers due to her guidance and support as well as that of her husband, William, in addition to the knowledge and experience that was gained from their internship with Ashley Productions. In late 2000, Daniel Zizmor, a former intern, obtained a position working for George Lucas' visual effects company, Industrial Light and Magic, where he was part of the technical support team that worked on Jurassic Park III. He most recently worked on the much anticipated Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and had a small onscreen role as a Jedi knight. Another former intern, Patrina Chin, in mid-2001, began working on NBC'S popular television series, The West Wing, starring Martin Sheen.
